the

as the modern architects build higher. They based their original
ideas on the fact that the World Trade Centre in New York stands at 110
stories high and at the time of making the film a one thousand foot
structure was planned for the Chicago area of America in the 1990s. So
it wasn't too fantastic an idea to imagine that acity circa 2019
A.D. might have structures 3000 feet high.
They started to build an entire elevated network of connections, because decent citizens wouldn't live below 60 stories above the ground. So the street level became an access corridor, which is very congested with cars and large machines just parked there by uncaring owners, avery unpleasant place if one had to live thereby economic circumstances.
Ridley Scott's vision was of a Hong Kong or Calcutta kind of density. The original graphics on the streets contributed to this density, without being too distracting, as English |

The other extreme in the city is represented by the 700-story pyramid, housing the offices of the Tyrell Corporation, which isresponsible for the creation of the replicants. They based their original ideas on medieval castles, with fortifications, hills and structures. It was considered too impractical to build 700-storey skyscrapers. The Tyrell pyramid was one of the most elaborate minatures in the film. Standing two and a half feet tallon a nine-foot base, the model was built on a “guesstimated” scale of 1:1000, and was meant to represent a building nearly half a mile tall. Although there are two pyramids in the film, only one model was built - optical sleight of hand was used to suggest the second tower. The pyramid was designed by Tom Cranham, who alsohelped to storyboard the elaborate fly-bysequence that opens the film. Much of the pyramid’s intricate detail was fashioned from acid-etched brass plates, which were layered in |
