ADAPT 2006
Montreal, Quebec, Canada
CG Channel magazine,is holding a major event on September 23-24th in
Montreal called ADAPT 2006 (Advanced Digital Art Production Techniques).
Essentially, this will be a series of master-classes given by masters in
the industry. Syd Mead is scheduled to be a speaker and host a 1 hour 45
minutes session which will be limited to 300 people.

Rochester Institute of Technology
Co-Sponsors Rochester Institute of Technology and the Central New York
Chapter of the Industrial Designer's Society of America, are happy to
announce that Syd Mead is scheduled to make a presentation at 7PM in the
Webb Auditorium in the James E. Booth Building (in which the industrial
Design Department is also located). Books will be on sale and there will be
a meet a greet session after the presentation.

Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award

SPECIAL JURY COMMENDATION, SYD MEAD
A Special Jury Commendation will be awarded to illustrator and conceptual
designer Syd Mead, for his body of work and for his inspiration to
countless designers, artists and illustrators around the world. The
official awards program will take place October 18th, 2006 in New York
City.

accepted an invitation from the Society of Illustrators Inc., to give his
